Taption is a powerful paid tool for subtitle editing. In this first article of the Taption Feature Series, we'll walk you through how it works step by step, helping you boost your productivity and get more done with less effort!

Step 1: First, log in to Taption. The interface is super intuitive, and every new account comes with 15 free minutes to get started.

Step 2: Click the upload button, and you'll see multiple ways to add your video. You can either upload a file directly or paste a link, making the whole process much more convenient.

Step 3: Customize your subtitle settings based on your needs. Choose the language, set the maximum number of characters per line, and even select the video’s content type to improve transcription accuracy. Taption is all about giving you full control over your subtitles.

Step 4: Once everything is set, hit 'Start Transcription,' and Taption will begin processing your video. When it's done, you can access the editing page directly from the main interface. One of Taption’s standout features is its ability to handle both text corrections and timecodes simultaneously.

You'll notice that Taption automatically aligns your subtitles with the correct timestamps. Your main task is simply fixing minor errors, adjusting line breaks, merging or splitting sentences, and Taption will adjust the timing accordingly. Once you're done with the edits, you can export your subtitles with just a few clicks!

If you need to add a new subtitle, open the timeline editor from the bottom left. Taption will create a subtitle box at the right spot, and you can manually drag the timing to adjust it. Once everything looks good, hit the export button in the top-right corner to download your subtitles!

Taption supports multiple export formats, so you can easily integrate the subtitles into different video editing software.
